does missing tpms give a dic error code?
@@firstlast-yn4qg not if you use a Z06 receiver but if you use a non Z06 one it will give you a low psi warning.
Where did you get the shift knob?

I just installed an inline electric fuel pump, problem solved. I tried 3 way filters, adding electric fan to supplement the original new fan clutch, electric fuel pump worked.
Use Flex Seal rubbrrized coating as tour coating. It works far better than cooler coating and has no smell in the water. be sure to let it fully cure for 48 hrs before adding water.

You can order them from any auto parts supplier, but look at summit, Amazon, or eBay.

Good Day from the Future; 3/10/2024 I love my 2004 Z06 Commemorative LS6 Corvette. I bought it new. I've owned MOPARS in the past. Three 440 Magnums, a 383, a 340 and a 318. Great Engines for their day. My LS6 has 131,000 miles on it, no leaks, runs like new, gets good gas milage on the highway and still has the original factory clutch. Best Engine that I've ever owned. Can you confirm the part number for the base one? Also can you confirm the z06 as well?

It work well for a while but I ended up replacing it. It was more of a band-aid the a permanent fix.

So i have a 2003 vette , dont i have an ls1 intake? and i should use a ls6 intake? does the throttle body matter? and isn't this piece the only difference from an ls6 engine or z06 engine?
You have an LS1 motor but it comes with an ls6 intake. The z06 had better heads but GM started using the ls6 intake on corvettes after 2001 and Camaros/trans ams after 2002. That is the main reason why power jumped in those years.
whos the company that can put a larger snout on the ls6 intake?

Chris, Thanks a million for a great technical video! I've owned 4 (four) LS1 powered 2000-2002 Camaro SS, coupes & convertibles, automatics & manuals and they ALL had those same oil leaks. Because I didn't keep any of them very long, nor did I drive them much, I never investigated the origin(s) of the leaks. Now that own another C5 'Vette (my 2nd C5) I'm determined to find and fix any and all oil leaks. This is my 8th 'Vette. I've owned a completely original 1974 454 automatic coupe which I recently restored, a 1977 L82 automatic coupe, a 1984 automatic coupe, a 1986 automatic coupe, a 1996 automatic coupe, a 2004 automatic convertible, a 2006 Z51 manual coupe and now after all these years, a 2001 automatic coupe. I consider the C5 (5th generation) 'Vettes the best looking of all generations. When you installed your cam position sensor with the Buna O-Rings, did you remove the sensor's captive crush washer or leave it in place? You got my attention regarding the throttle body coolant bypass. That's something I'm definitely going to do. Also, the crankcase ventilation catch-can is also a must-do for me. Do you simply "T" the catch-can into the existing hose or is there more to it? Have you or will you make a video of that procedure or explain the process here? I've been wrenching on, modifying, improving, restoring and racing cars & trucks since 1967 so I guess you can say I'm "Old School". My 598ci-powered 1970 Chevelle SS was well known at Sportsman NHRA events and PSCA events. I did all the work on it myself except for paint and 6-point roll bar. It gives me hope knowing that younger guys such as you are involved in the older cars, keeping the sport (and the cars) alive! Dave
Easiest way to tell is the X in between the intake ports (plastic shape) vs the LS6 which is not X just reg plastic squares.

what does the dashboard look like where it used to say the tire pressure? is that screen gone or will the tire pressure readings be blank?
I have a 85 firebird and I just used a jeep 3 nipple filter. Has a return from the filter. Problem fixed I watched the same guy uncle Tony and use the jeep filter. Mine had the 305 Rochester but now has a built 350.
get you a dorman 615-901 it has the 4 bolt TB

FYI, those washer nut PIA I believe can be replaced with GM part number 11561145. It's a nut with a plastic cover over it which is used to attach the cargo net across the back side of the trunk area. I ordered 4 today as somehow there are zero on my '02 - not really surprising seeing how a PO has been a bit ham fisted in the past.
How did you end up attaching the receiver to the upper panel? I have an '02 and the receiver's clip was broken off by a PO. Was thinking of velcro double sided tape either on the top or in the bulged part of the molding that comes off. FYI, I picked up some M6 nuts from Home Depot, and with a couple of locking washers and rubber washers, it better than that bloody washer clip device they used.

@@MRdarthvenom Thanks. I picked up some velcro strap and a 11" zip tie and it worked well. 1. cut out a little square of the carpet backing material. 2. While holding the material between the receiver and bracket, wrap a piece of velcro around the whole thing. 3. run the zip tie around the velcro and tighten as desired (not too tight). Now there's a good amount of padding around the plastic receiver box, and it's never coming off. If needed for replacement, it's pretty easy to take it off.
How old is that how come the spining thing is not rusted? I think its called the flywheel or whatever that thing that spins
It was like 5-6 years old. The fan section does not sit in water so it won't rust.
@@MRdarthvenom yeah i guess mine rusted cus of a few winters didn't winterize it but it was already rusted when we got the house its sitting on top of the roof and alot of pieces of rust blow into the house no matter how much i scrape each blade which is very time consuming the rust just keeps scraping off the fan blades

When replacing tie rod ends is counting inserted threads for the new ones a good method for a rough adjustment ?

I’m trying the same conversion, but the reels need to be installed level in order to release. I wish I would have done more research before buying the later model C6 belts.
Was trying to replace cold air intake with aftermarket. While doing so a grommet fell off of old intake tube and rolled under attached manifold. How screwed am i?
You should be able to get it out, not a lot space underneath.
I see that you can buy really inexpensive stainless steel braided steam vent crossover pipes like you showed in the vid but they’re more aesthetic. Can you simply buy a steel braided version of that instead of the junkyard one you showed, and install for looks? Perhaps better venting as well
That is true. But I ended up using the stock ls1 vents
Hey need help what if i just use a T fitting instead? My place dont sell the T fuel filter....its hard to find
Try Amazon or eBay. I don't think a t fitting will work.

WIX Filters - 33054 Fuel or WIX Filters - 33040 Fuel Orielly's has it and so does Amazon
Did your lights on the mirror work. I have a 79 Vette that has a lighted mirror on passenger side, but it shorts out when I try to get the light to work.

I just watched a video on RUclips five minutes ago that said if the intake numbers are on the passenger side it is an LS1. If the numbers are on the driver side it is an LS6 ? Who knows about this and is it true?
